75mm F2.8 Di III RXD Lens (Sony Fit)

My past Gear of the Year choices - the Nikon D750 , DJI Mavic Pro and Sony a9 - were based on the strong emotional connection I made with each, as a photographer and videographer during the given year. The 28-75 RXD has the requisite 9 rounded aperture blades which will enable round circular highlights even with the lens stopped down, though, as we will see, the lens does suffer the fairly common deformation of circular shapes near the edge of the frame (they become more cat-eyed there).

Thank you very much for your advice of which one of the two zoom lenses I have better take. Compared with the Sony 24-70mm F2.8 G-Master, the GM has better color rendition, micro contrast, improved edge sharpness, smoother and creamier bokeh, and a much higher build quality.

The A036 reaches a MOD of 0.19m (7.5 in) at the 28mm wide-angle end achieving a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9. A working distance of just 5.7cm (2.24 in) from the front element allows you to shoot close-up with a sense of perspective unique to wide angles.

While I'm sure in some respects it's the dream of some minimalist out there, in the sense of functional usefulness to professionals, Tamron has stripped away every tactile feature but the focus and zoom rings. My point is that an E-mount lens with the Dan Bracaglia seal of approval makes some of the older Sony cinema cameras very attractive.

The resistance on the zoom ring is good, and a little easier to turn than the Sony 24-70 GM. I love using this lens on a gimbal, so being able to zoom in without messing with the gimbal's motors is fantastic. It can also handle both stills and video capture as well as Sony's modern full-frame cameras.

Tamron's version 2.0 firmware update for its 28-75mm F2.8 Di III RXD claims to have addressed reported issues with autofocus during video shooting. I usually leave it on f2.8. For those still wondering about the zoom ring being next to the external element - its enables the remarkable close focusing - or so i've read.

The Model A036 breaks from the convention that the MOD of a zoom lens must be fixed portrait throughout the focal range and achieves a MOD of 7.5 in. at the 28mm wide-angle end which delivers a maximum image magnification of 1:2.9. The working distance of just 2.24 in. from the front element allows photographers to enjoy close-up shooting that emphasizes the sense of perspective unique to wide angles.
